More Birthday Fun

For Reece's actual birthday (February 19) we decided to have a family day. We had breakfast at First Watch where Reece had a chocolate chip pancake
Then we spent the morning at Marbles. Both Hailey and Reece had a blast as usual!

Reece had never played in the water before. He loved it

Reece did not want to play in the baby/toddler areas this time. He wanted to be with the big kids and had the best time trying to keep up with them.
After we were all worn out we headed home for lunch and naps. But first my babies had to cuddle first. :)
Later in the afternoon Reece got to open his present. We got him a v-tech track that his cars fit on.

He loves to try to take it apart more than drive the cars on it.

We had a great day celebrating our one year old!

Reece is ONE

Reece turned ONE today! I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by. I feel like he was just born and yet like he was always here.
We don't go to the doctor for his check up until Monday but I'm assuming he weighs right at 20 pounds. He wears 12 month clothes, a size 4 diaper and a size 5 shoe.
Reece is walking! Well, most of the time. If he wants to get somewhere quickly he will crawl. He can walk fairly long distances too. He will walk from one room to another and down the hallway upstairs. We went to Marbles for his birthday today and he was walking around with the big kids. He didn't want to play in the baby areas, just the regular kid areas.
His sleeping is slowly improving. He can sleep through the night and has for a week or so. Of course he's waking up at 5:30...we'll work on that part later. Ha! He takes two 30 minute naps during the day. Reece is getting better in the car too. He still doesn't love it but he doesn't scream the entire time either.
Reece is a busy boy! He rarely sits still unless he's eating or occasionally reading a book. His favorite books are touch and feel and lift the flap books. He loves to throw a ball and roll his cars across the floor. Lately he has liked putting things into the oven in the play kitchen, closing the door and pushing the buttons on it (like mommy does). He also likes to take out the tools and bang the hammer on things or try to put the screwdriver into a hole. Reece is very observant. He will watch you do something and then try to copy what you do.
Reece's favorite food is still cheese. Ha! He will eat pretty much anything but loves bagels, mashed potatoes, mandrain oranges, frozen peas and hot dogs. We have been mixing breast milk and whole milk for a few weeks now and he hasn't had a problem with it at all. He's even had a few bottles of just whole milk and chugged them down.
Hailey can still get him to laugh the most. Reece absolutely loves his big sister. He likes for daddy to put him to bed and mommy to read to him. He has finally chosen a lovey. He chose a beany Yankees bear that we've been using as a decoration in his room. I took it down to use at his birthday party and he wouldn't let it go.
We love you Reece Anthony! I am so thankful you are ours!

Valentines Fun

We had a lot of fun celebrating Valentine's Day this year. Hailey loved being able to pick out and make valentines for her friends at school.
We also had a little valentines party with our neighbors. The kids did a craft

Made pizzas for lunch

Decorated cookies

And played with our friends
We had a blast!
Ryan and I had a valentines date, which I don't have a picture of and Hailey had a special date with daddy too!
The kids and I were in Charlotte on the actual day of Valentine's Day but I took this pic of them the week before.

I am so lucky to have such wonderful
Valentines!

Life Lately

Life Lately has been a lot of:
Dressing up
pretending
Taking walks on the warm days

Giggling at the fashion choices of a certain almost *four* year old

Trying new things
Cooking with my sous chef
Taking our friends everywhere
Sporting some cute new clothes

Finding new uses for our toys
Playing hide and seek
And enjoying sweet treats!

I love these two!

First Haircut

Reece got his first haircut on Friday. He was starting to have a mullet in the back so we decided it was time ;)
Before:

He wasn't really too sure about sitting in the chair by himself or having his head held still

After:

He looks like a little boy now, not a baby. I guess that means someone is ready to turn one!
