Snow Day

I'm a little late on my snow day post but here it is...We got about 3 inches of snow on Tuesday night, which for here is a pretty good amount. (Schools have been out for 3 days because of it.) It was super powdery so we weren't able to make a snowman. Hailey was disappointed but she had fun playing in it for the 15 minutes we were outside. She was getting a cold and didn't even really want to go out but we got her to for a few minutes and she enjoyed it but when she asked to go inside we had no problem with it.

Checking it out

She decided she needed to dig a little. Who said you can't use a sand/beach shovel for snow?

Our sad attempt at a sled. We had to use a Rubbermaid box lid because we didn't have a sled. It had ridges on the sides so it obviously didn't slide easily but Hailey had fun and was laughing and saying "wee!" all the way down our driveway so it accomplished it's purpose. (Ignore the plastic shovel in Ryan's hand; he was cleaning off his car.)

This one is my favorite! She was dying laughing!

Then Hailey and Daddy took a little snow walk, by Hailey's request.

I'm sure this is the last year we'll be able to get away with not having a sled and staying out for hours playing in the snow. While I will love those times when they get here, I loved only being cold for 15 minutes then looking at the snow from my nice warm house. :)

Sunday Pics

Ya'll know I love to take pictures of Hailey on Sundays all dressed up for church (well I like to take pictures of her anytime, really). This Sunday my parents were here and I had to get a picture of Hailey and her new best friend "Das" (my dad). Up until about 2 months ago Hailey didn't really know what to think of Das. She liked him and enjoyed playing with him but only if my mom or I was around. Well that all changed come Thanksgiving and Christmas when Das started getting her donuts and making her playhouses out of cardboard boxes.

They've been best friends ever since... This Sunday my mom got the cutest picture of them before church.

My parents went with us to church on Sunday but left after service to drive back to Charlotte. When I picked Hailey up at the nursery after church the first thing she asked for was Das. Precious!

Me and my girl before church
So after I pick Hailey up from the nursery every week we go back up to our Life Class classroom to see our friends and talk. Hailey is usually really tired and hungry by this point so she's not really the life of the party. Except for this week...she found this little storage closet and had a ball playing peek-a-boo with everyone. And yes she climbed up there by herself.

She wasn't too happy when Daddy had to take her out to go home...think she'll remember this closet this week?!

Snow!

It's actually snowed here a few times in the last week. Just flurries and never sticking, but I have taken Hailey out every. time. just because I can

this was at like 6:15 in the morning

later that same day
trying to catch the snowflakes on her tongue

even Abbie got in on the fun!
But last night it actually snowed and stuck! We took Hailey out when it started last night and she was so excited.
it was really coming down!

trying to catch the snowflakes on our tongues
It snowed for probably 3 or 4 hours and accumulated enough to play in this morning. We took Hailey out before Ryan left for work and she loved it. She kept saying "crunchy" as she walked through it.

And then Hailey was begging to go out again before lunch so I obliged. (We only stayed out about 15 minutes each time.) A lot of melted but she still had fun.

"Hooray!"
she wanted to shovel it
I know it wasn't much but that's fine with me. I'm afraid that might be the most snow we see this year. I'm glad Hailey got to experience it.

Week in Review

Well, last week in review. But better late than never!

Sunday:
Reading before church
Monday:
Playing at the park

This girl is fearless when it comes to climbing and sliding!

And still loves swinging. Yes that is Abbie in the swing behind her. She loved it too! And it's easier to just push one swing than to keep two going...

Tuesday:
Bible Study and errands. A super busy day and no pictures. Oops...

Wednesday:
Lots of playing and discovering our love for glue sticks

Thursday:
Lots of imagination!
"Mommy. Daddy. Date"
Making dinner for Daisy and Big Bear.
 Friday:
Mid-Winter's Ball at church. Awesome event. No pictures. Oops!

Satuday:
Grams and Das came to visit!
How Hailey waits...
They brought me the baby walker to use for Abbie and someone else had to give it a try first. Stinker. She now climbs in it by herself whenever I'm not looking...
I'm sure I missed a little in there but at least you get a little picture into our life...busy, busy, busy

Monday Funday

Ryan had off from work on Monday so we made it a Funday! We went to Marbles in the morning. We hadn't been in over a month so Hailey loved it even more.

The water table area was her favorite this time. She kept asking to go back to it after we had gone to other areas.

Even Abbie got in on the fun!
We actually got her to put on the tutu this time. She is into dancing and twirling now. I thinking dance classes are in our future.

Ryan took her up on this equipment in one of the rooms so that she could go down the big slide. It wasn't a fast slide and I stood at the bottom just listening to her giggle all the way down. But the second time she did it a little girl was right behind her and all I could hear was Hailey saying "beep beep", which is what I say to her when I need her to move. It was funny.

It was gorgeous outside Monday so after naptime we went outside. Hailey wanted to take Daniel Tiger and Miss Elaina on a stroller ride.
And we rounded out the afternoon with some video games ;) Just kidding. Ryan was playing with our neighbor and Hailey decided to join in.
I love fun days!
