Just the Beginning

We have been having the most fun summer so far...and we haven't even gotten to the "fun" stuff with travel yet! We had a cul-de-sac cookout with our neighbors. The kids played in the pool, bounce house and with corn hole. We had hot dogs and lots of yummy food and just enjoyed the great weather together.

We have gotten to go swimming quite a bit! We went over to our neighbor's house one night and as we were walking I noticed Hailey had on two different shoes. She said, "I wanted to surprise you mom" crazy girl
We had Super Summer Adventure (VBS) at our church one week. It was a busy week but so much fun! I helped with second grade, Hailey and Reece both had classes to go to also. It was such a blessing that they were learning about God's love as I was teaching about it too.

The pastors help out with skits to tell the Bible stories all week and one day Ryan was Jesus.

This is how we felt at the end of the week. Ha!
We have been enjoying nightly bike rides/walks
Watering our garden
Popsicles
Time at the park
And even another afternoon on the lake. Reece got to go this time and don't let the pictures fool you, he was not a fan of the life jacket or being in the water. He loved, however, walking around the boat and eating snacks. Ha!

This has been the most fun summer so far and it's just getting started!

Celebrating Daddy

So it's a little late but we had so much fun celebrating Ryan last weekend. The Lord has blessed me with an amazing husband and daddy to my children.
We didn't get a Fathers Day picture with them all dressed up (life of a pastor's family) but my cuties looked precious

After church we came home and the kids and Ryan rested/took naps. Then Ryan wanted to go to the driving range.
The kids and I joined him. They had a blast! But they weren't exactly quiet. Ha!

Then Ryan grilled his own Fathers Day dinner on his new grill. And we finished the night swimming at our neighbor's house. It was a great day spent celebrating a great dad!

Summer Days

Ahhh summertime. We are so enjoying you now that I have healthy kids.

We have enjoyed some (hot) walks.
Where Reece insisted on carrying two balls and throwing them every six steps. It was a slow walk.
Played with play doh when the heat was unbearable
Enjoyed some treats
Played at the pool where Hailey wouldn't get out of the water and Reece wouldn't get in. He does not like the pool (which breaks my pool-loving heart). Instead he just followed Scully, the dog, around trying to give him his water bowl. It was precious.

Tried on some new shoes. And then refused to take them off

Looked adorable for church

Helped mommy prep for Super Summer Adventure (VBS)
Helped mommy shop
Practiced our sorting
And made Mommy's heart smile during an ordinary night getting ready for bed
Sweet summertime!

#momlife

Our life around here lately has been busy. Busy with sickness (unfortunately), fun times, laughter and lots of outside time. Basically I feel like it's the typical mom life...

Our bout with sickness started around Mother's Day, yes that's almost a month ago. The kids both had colds so we stayed home from church that morning. Here is my beautiful Mother's Day picture
I love these two!
Hailey had her Mother's Day tea at school the next day and she gave me her gift, sang her adorable songs then we sat down for a snack. Hailey started telling me her stomach hurt and true to #momlife, she threw up. At school. In the hallway. Poor baby. I'm just glad I was already there and she didn't have to wait for me to pick her up.
The next few days were lots of cleaning and eating Popsicles for both kids. Yep, they both got it.
Then they both ended up with ear infections. After being on antibiotics a few days they felt much better and we had some fun family days
Playing outside

Family pictures taken by our friend
Swimming at an indoor pool
Getting a fish (which died two days later)

Playing in boxes
And much more.
The kids and I had a fun trip to Charlotte for Memorial Day planned. We had a great Friday with Mimi, taking bike rides and eating cool whip.

Then we went to Grams and Das' house. Reece started feeling a little under the weather so Hailey, Das and I went to the parade by ourselves. Hailey had a blast getting lots of candy!
We had fun playing with our cousins and swimming in the pool too

But unfortunately the colds kept getting worse and by the time we left on Tuesday Reece was pitiful. Well it turns out her had hand, foot and mouth. Worst.sickness.ever
The next week was lots of snuggles, tv and Tylenol. We had some sweet moments thrown in but lots of pitiful ones too.
My parents came down on Friday and we got to go out on the lake! My mom stayed with Reece because he was still sick. It was the first time Hailey had been on a boat and she LOVED it.
When she jumped in the water she asked, "are there sharks in here?!"
There will be many more lake days in our future. :)
The kids and I missed out on several fun things this weekend but we tried to have a little fun

It seems that everyone is on the mend for now and I pray it stays that way. I love mom life and the ones who made me a mommy but it is more fun when they are well ;)
