Picture Catch Up

One last picture catch up before Reece comes...
Hailey has been asking for weeks to see the "Dalmatian movie" 101 Dalmatians. So when it was released from the vault on February 10 we got it and had a dinner picnic to watch it. Hailey liked the first few minutes until the "mean lady" Cruella DeVille showed up. She ended up finishing the movie but we had to skip a few scenes.
Hailey asked if she could use scissors the other day. Most stressful 15 minutes of my life! She did fine but it was just a little nerve wracking for me. I kept seeing my kindergarten scissor mishaps flash before my eyes.

One afternoon it was beautiful outside so we took out the scooter she got for Christmas and gave it a ride. Hailey had to give George a ride too.
Then we played "special delivery" back inside when it got too cold. She came up with this game all on her own.
 Cutie before church this Sunday.
And our snow pictures...Hailey just couldn't wait to play in it when the snow started Monday night.
We got some snow and a lot of sleet/ice on top of it. She wanted to sled in the morning so we finally got to try out the sled we bought back in November.

Hailey wasn't really a fan of the layers and layers of clothes she had to wear to play outside but she loved Daddy pulling her on the sled and sledding down the big hill our street is on.

Well, that's it. At least until Reece comes! He will be born tomorrow (Thursday) via c-section because the little stinker is breech. Being difficult already ;) We are super excited to meet him! I can't wait to share pictures!

Enjoying Every Moment

These last few weeks it's really hit me that these are the last moments Hailey and I will have with her as my only child. I've really trying to enjoy every one of them...and believe me, sometimes that has been hard. But we've had some great ones...
We went to a bounce house place one morning. This girl did.not.stop.bouncing the entire time we were there. All of my pictures of her look like this, blurry, because she was constantly moving. She loved it!

One of the bounce houses had a little obstacle course around the outside. Hailey got to this part and said "Look Mommy. It's a car wash!"
We've had tea parties with Daddy in 40 degree weather,
taken a lot of silly pictures,

practiced putting on our slippers all by ourselves,
practiced riding our tricycle
and had a fun family date to the hospital for a tour.
We wanted to take Hailey with us so that she could see where I would be and not be scared of it. So we made a night out of it: dinner at Chick-Fil-A with daddy after work and then going to our hospital tour. This girl wasn't scared one bit. She was almost running through the halls asking "Where is baby Reece?" She loved seeing the babies in the nursery, and was convinced one was Reece. It will be interesting to see if she gets nervous when she actually comes to see me in the hospital.

I've shared her love of My Little Ponies before. Well now she has a few necklaces that have the ponies on them and wants to wear them everywhere we go. Even to church. I couldn't resist a picture last night

So grown up. Unfortunately the pony necklaces got injured in some of Hailey's antics and Daddy had to preform surgery on them this morning before work. What a great daddy!
We're trying to enjoy every moment with our big girl before she is a big sister!

Valentine Crafting

Almost everyday Hailey asks if she can do a craft. The girl loves glue. Seriously, give her a glue stick and some paper and she will be perfectly content, and very sticky, for at least 15 minutes. I've had to get creative in my crafting with her. We've adapted a few pinterest ideas and even a few I used to do with my kindergarteners. Here are a few of our Valentine crafts this year...
We made the first one on a canvas. I thought it would be a cute decoration and Hailey is so proud of it. She shows it to everyone who comes to our house!
First she finger painted the canvas. I gave her red, pink and white paint and of course she mixed them all together. Oh well.

Then while we waited for it to dry, we glued pink and red buttons onto a felt heart.
When everything was dry I hot glued the heart to the canvas and viola! Adorable decoration. (Excuse Hailey's hair in these pics. She didn't take a nap this day and was a little wild...not to mention she wanted to dress up as a train conductor all afternoon and ran around with her train whistle yelling "all aboard!")

Another day we made a Valentine wreath. I cut a heart out of a paper plate and let her glue red, pink and white tissue paper to the outside. She liked this one so much we actually made two! I think it was because she was in charge of the glue stick...
 Gotta love her finished pics

We also made Daddy a picture
And then to go with the sun catchers we made previously, we made a variation of a craft I used to do with my kindergarteners for Christmas. Of course my kindergarteners did this whole process by themselves and used a Christmas tree but for us...I cut out a paper heart then we worked together to use a hole puncher to make holes then glued tissue paper to the back to cover the holes.
George had to help a little
Finished! You can see our sun catchers in the corner of this picture.
We've done a few more here and there but I forgot to take pictures of them. Love my crafty girl!

Reece's Room

I'm excited to finally share Reece's room with you! We are super excited and anticipating his arrival in 2ish weeks! It's about time we got it finished, right?!

We used the same bedroom and furniture that we bought for Hailey when she was born. We rearranged the room a little to fit the recliner/rocking chair into it (it had been in our bedroom).
Looking in the door:

A little closer look at the changing table.
I was so excited we found this verse to put on the wall. He has truly been prayed for for many, many months.
Ryan is super excited about the changing pad cover. :)
Continuing around the room
My mom found this print for his room on etsy. It says "Let the field be joyful and all that is in it. Psalm 96:12"
The dresser.
After he's born we will have a print made with his name and birth stats to hang in the middle.
His crib. I knew I wanted navy and white for his room but had a really hard time finding a bumper that I liked. I wanted more navy than white since the furniture was white but just couldn't find it. So we decided to do the breathable bumper with navy and white sheets instead and I love how it turned out!

We ordered the letters for his name on etsy and my mom found that half-baseball to hang beside it at a cute shop in Charlotte.
Over the closet we hope to hang a bat, just to round-out the baseball theme, but haven't had time to get around to that yet...
I couldn't get a really good picture of the window boxes over his windows but hopefully you can see them enough in the other pictures. We just recovered them from when we had Hailey's fabric on them. The baskets around his room were a joint effort by the grandmas. Ryan's mom got us several for Christmas and unknowingly my mom had picked up the same ones for us too!

There you have it! Reece's room is ready...now when will we meet him?!
